Serving Adult Literacy Learners with Dyslexia

Adult literacy learners with learning disabilities like dyslexia benefit from specific methods and strategies to support their reading development. In this session, you'll learn about what dyslexia is, how to screen for indicators of dyslexia, and how your library literacy program can support volunteer tutors in serving this population. Participants will have the opportunity to practice with a session plan for working with learners with suspected dyslexia based on principles of structured literacy and will be able to take home planning resources for use with their own programs.
