Specially tailored for library supervisors and managers (but open to all levels of library workers), Building Basics for Libraries introduces techniques, standards, concepts, and terminology of construction and building management as they relate to the library environment. Attendees will gain a better understanding of their physical surroundings, improve equity within the library space, identify potential building issues, communicate more effectively with building proffessionals, respond appropriately to critical building issues and emergencies, and use lessons learned for better decision-making when planning library building initiatives, improvements, and/or budgeting.
