Literacy Manager
Alameda County Library
Anika Crittendon has worked in literacy and volunteer management for 25 years. She believes that empowering adults and youth to read, write and to speak English is vital to our communities and our national discourse on the intersection of race, economics, policy, and education. She began using literacy as the tool to affect change as a Program Director for a non-profit providing mentor-tutors for Berkeley and Oakland youth. In 2003, Anika began working in the field of adult literacy at the Solano County Library. She continues making impact as a literacy manager for the Alameda County Library.
