Michelle Jeffers is the chief of Community Programs and Partnerships for the San Francisco Public Library. In this role, she manages a 45-member staff that plans the Library’s public programming, classes and exhibitions for all ages. She also oversees bookmobiles, literacy and learning programs, jail and re-entry services and communications and marketing, and engages in partnerships with cultural, educational, civic and private institutions. She previously worked in publishing for McGraw-Hill and Dow Jones & Company. A former journalist, she has served as a staff writer, bureau chief, reporter and editor for numerous magazines, newspapers and radio stations.
