What does being a disruptor have to do with library sustainability? This ignite talk is intended to inspire LIS professionals to create positive change and momentum in their libraries, and to look beyond conventional channels of thought in order to bring libraries into the future. Change is coming, and libraries are part of the change. This program is aimed at creating hope for change, with actionable steps on how to disrupt the status quo on the systemic and individual level through a deeper understanding of CRT topics like intersectionality and how that applies to library work, past, present, and future. Attendees should walk away with food for thought, motivation to apply to their own library services, and to productively challenge the status quo. Attendees will learn how to become positive changemakers in order to create peace and longevity in libraries in a world of book bans and protests against inclusion.
