Social Services Specialist

Chenice Jackson is the Social Services Specialist for Berkeley Public Library. Before joining Berkeley Library, she was a Clinical Case Manager and Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist for the ACT Program (Assertive Community Treatment) in San Francisco, providing services for unhoused and severely mentally ill individuals. As the Social Services Specialist she works one-on-one with patrons in crisis to assess their needs and refers them to other providers that offer services dealing with basic needs, housing, benefits, medical care, and more. She also supports library staff with information about community resources and best practices for working with patrons in crisis.
