Gary Shaffer is the President of the California Library Association and the director of libraries for the City of Glendale. He previously served as CEO of the Tulsa City-County Library. He has also worked as a library administrator, librarian, and trainee within the communities of Sacramento, Los Angeles County, and Brooklyn. He also previously ran the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business Master of Management in Library and Information Science (MMLIS) program; a program in which he still teaches part-time. He has published three library management books. Gary is a 2006 LJ M&S recipient.
