Migell Acosta

Library Director
San Diego County Library

Migell Acosta is the director of the San Diego County Library (sdcl.org), which serves the unincorporated communites in the County and eleven of the region's eighteen incorporated cities. The San Diego COunty Library has 285 permanent staff, a budget of $57M, and a very supportive network of Friends of the Library groups. Previous to his current role, Migell was an Assistant Director and Chief Information Office at the Los Angeles County Libray. Migell began his career in special libraries, earning his MLIS at UCLA while working at the RAND Corporation and subsequently working for the Santa Monica Public Library.
